My research focus is on institutional development at local, national and international scales. I am particularly interested in how formal institutions, such as a legal system, affects the development of social structures, including ethnic or religious identity, generalized trust and cooperation.
Within this section, I divide my work into themes, though there is some obvious overlap, and I post working papers and notes when they are available. Comments are always welcome.
